Anarchy in Latin America

Last night was karaoke in La Marca, one of the few bars in El Sauce.

Sean and I sang "Die Die My Darling" by The Misfits, back in the good old days before Danzig left and when he still had a neck.

I am a terrible singer. I don't care. I do it anyways.

When it was over, Brian, the bar's karaoke DJ, tells Sean he wants to sing a song with me and immediately puts on "Anarchy in the U.K." by The Sex Pistols.

I was pretty happy he wanted to sing with me and he knew I would know that song. No one here knows punk. It's not really a thing other than the word "punkero" (punk-ero like ranchero) but no one knows the music or anything past that.

Awesome!

When it was over I told the DJ our next duet should be Motorhead, and a student here said, sing again but something not as loud.

"No way," I told her. "That's the point."
