Happy birthday, in Africa

I'm in Dakar, Senegal, for my birthday. I'm under anyone's radar and enjoying walking past goats and chickens and burnt out cars and girls doing their hair in the street and trying to buy tampons.... In a country where there is none because the pharmacist looked at my awkward photos on my phone of a Tampax box with bafflement.
Later, we will kill a sheep for a special dinner to celebrate Patricia's graduation.
I will try to decipher the intricate cooking that appears to be all Senegalese cooking.

I'm glad I made it another year, catching an alligator and falling in an anaconda hole.... So many experiences and lives and lessons and I'm thankful for them all in these countries and with new friends and those always in my heart.
