Life in Red Hook: Take matters into your own hands

Today I photographed a six-block radius of the industrial area of Red Hook, Brooklyn, for an assignment. There was not much planned, and not a lot of pedestrians, but we wanted to show the spirit of the place.
So I took matters into my own hands.
When the car pulled up to my host and she introduced her as a dance instructor of a pay-what-you-can studio (Cora), I invited myself.
Then asked her if she'd hold a dance outside.
She put on music I wasn't expecting and they took off.
Love them.
